When Jewish dress designer Hedy Strnad and her husband Paul were trapped in Prague as the Nazis closed in, they reached out to Paul’s cousin in the US to help them emigrate. Sadly, their efforts failed. Hedy and Paul perished in the Holocaust, but they live on in this haunting exhibit that tells their story.
Stitching History From The Holocaust features Hedy’s dresses, created from her rediscovered sketches. It’s a unique and moving representation of one woman’s creativity and a small glimpse into what was lost in the Holocaust.
